Wedding Flowers at Zonzo Estate: My Guide to Floral Styling at This Beautiful Yarra Valley Venue

Zonzo Estate is one of my favourite venues to work at in the Yarra Valley. As a preferred supplier, I’ve had the pleasure of designing flowers for many weddings here — and I’m always excited to return. The Capella is a stunning, light-filled space with a modern take on a traditional chapel. Watching couples say their vows with vineyard views behind them never gets old.

The restaurant has a warm, intimate feel — rustic timber details, big windows, and a fireplace that makes it feel like a celebration at a family home (if your family just happened to cook incredible Italian food and host seamless events every weekend!).

In this post, I’ll share my best tips for styling Zonzo Estate with flowers, including ideas for each space and how to get the most out of your floral budget.

Styling the Capella at Zonzo Estate

The Capella is a light-filled, modern chapel with views that are too good to block. I usually recommend low, grounded floral arrangements in natural, organic shapes — they create a beautiful ceremony backdrop without taking away from the vineyard view.

The aisle is fairly narrow, so instead of lining it with lots of flowers, I often suggest putting more of your floral budget into the ceremony feature. If you do want aisle flowers, keep them small and low-profile. A welcome sign at the entrance is also a lovely way to greet your guests and set the tone for the rest of the day.

One thing to consider is whether you’ll be standing on the stage or in front of it — that decision will impact how much space we have to work with and what kind of setup will look best. It’s also worth checking where your celebrant plans to stand so they don’t block your photos.

Pro tip: ask your bridal party to stand slightly behind the edge of the stage — especially during the first kiss — so your photos capture just the two of you, framed beautifully by your florals.

Reception Styling in the Zonzo Estate Restaurant

Receptions at Zonzo are intimate, cosy, and centred around long tables and shared Italian feasting. Because the food is served family-style down the centre of each table, we need to be mindful of space when it comes to flowers.

Zonzo recommends either 6 or 12 floral placements per table, depending on the overall look you're after. For something minimal, go with 12 bud vases spaced evenly. If you’re after a fuller, more luxurious feel, opt for 6 or 12 larger arrangements — we’ll tailor the size and style to match your colour palette and vibe.

Overhead installations are a big styling moment at Zonzo and can completely transform the space. These work beautifully hung in sets of 4 or 8 across the rafters, or a single feature piece above your head table if you're having one. For a modern twist on traditional “flower bombs,” we love using organic shapes and incorporating draped fabric for texture and movement.

To really get the most from your florals, we always suggest repurposing your ceremony pieces. They work perfectly along the fireplace — especially during speeches, cake cutting or a champagne tower moment — so they’re seen (and photographed!) all over again.
